Using a Porcelain Pallette is your best bet. First of all they're white and the color will show up perfectly. Secondly the wash perfectly cleanly - no stains or residue. Thirdly, they will last forever. We are listing other pallettes here but do try Porcelain. You will save a lot of money in the long run.

Nesting Porcelain Bowls Porcelain is a great surface for mixing paint! These nesting porcelain bowls are so easy to clean, and they stack neatly when you need to store them. Porcelain is weighty, so these mixing bowls won't slide around while in use. Thanks to their sturdy construction, they will last you for many years. The small bowl measures 75 mm (just under 3") in diameter, and each bowl is 13 mm (about ½") tall. The large bowl measures 100 mm (just under 4") in diameter, and is about 15 mm tall. Each set comes with one cover lid.

ACRYLIC & OIL PALLETTES
TIP:
To keep your acrylic paints wet up to a week, keep a spray bottle near your canvas or surface. Spray the acrylics very lightly, pointing the bottle up. You want to create a mist over the colors because you don't want to water them down. Then cover the pallette with plastic wrap (Saran or Gladwrap or any comparable wrap will do). This will actually keep your acrylics wet for up to two weeks. Like new!

Another Tip:
Make sure you keep your paint lumped together. Don't spread it out in a flat space. Keeping the paint lumped up will keep it wet longer. This works for all paints except watercolors, liquid watercolors and liquid paints.

Use the top side, which has many indentations, for watercolors, and the bottom side for acrylics and oils. The sponge layer creates a damp atmosphere that keeps acrylic film moist when the palette is sealed. It should be omitted when the palette is used for oil painting. The palette measures 12" × 16" (35 cm × 45 cm). Super Pro includes one sponge insert and 5 sheets of acrylic film. Stock up on extra film and sponge inserts.

Amaco Paragona Glass Artist Palette Amaco's Paragona Glass Artist Palette is intended to rest on a table surface rather than be held. It's excellent for mixing large areas of color. The Paragona palette is perfectly smooth, easy on brushes, and non-porous. It cleans up with very little effort. Printmakers love Paragona for rolling printing ink and mono-printing. Use it also as a workspace for clay and crafts. Paragona is made of strong, 100% tempered safety glass with smoothly beveled, comfortable edges. It has a white vinyl backing.
