Winsor & Newton Oilbars

Use Artists' Oilbar to draw directly onto canvas and other surfaces with wet oil color. Working with Oilbar is expressive and immediate. Nothing comes between the artist and the surface, not even a brush. Oilbar is an artists' quality range of oil color in solid, stick form. The 35 colors are made by combining pigment, oil, and a blend of specially selected waxes. Each pigment has the same permanence rating as equivalent colors in Winsor & Newton's Artists' and Winton oil color lines. To work with Oilbar, wipe away the thin surface film which forms on drying. Underneath is fresh, clean oil color ready for use. It softens and flows as pressure is applied to the bar.

Sennelier Artists' Oil Sticks

Made from pure concentrated pigment, the finest safflower oil, and high quality mineral wax, Oil Sticks can be used alone or in combination with tube oil paints. Like regular oils, they can be diluted with turpentine. They dry to a hard film. These creamy, very lightfast sticks can be used for sketching, or for producing complete works of art on any traditional oil painting surface. They're made with pure pigments, mineral wax, and vegetable oils. The dimensions of these hand made sticks are 1¼"W × 3¾"L. You may wish to use them over oil bars, but because of their softer consistency, they should be layered on top.

They dry to a durable film, and can be used on any support proper for oil or encaustic painting.
