Conté Crayons
Invented in France in 1795 by Nicolas-Jacques Conté especially for drawing and sketching, Conté Crayons are made from a blend of natural pigments, kaolin clay, and graphite. The Conté crayon has been used by many of the world’s greatest artists, including Picasso, Delacroix, and Degas. The rich, vivid colors of Conté Crayons mix together nicely, and a range of effects can be consistently produced. They are well suited for use on newsprint, bristol, toned paper or heavily grained surfaces. Their rich opacity makes them ideal for work on darker papers and their quality ensures the longevity of drawings. Conté crayons are waxier and much firmer than soft pastels, so they produce little dust and are easy to control. Sharpen Conté Crayons to a chisel tip with a sanding pad for detailed work or drag them flat on their sides for various shading techniques on large areas. The unique shape allows the sticks to be broken for easier use. Sticks are 2½" long × ¼" square (63 mm x 6 mm). Each box contains 2 or 12 crayons of one color, except for the color sets.
Conté Large Crayons
These extra wide crayons allow for big, bold strokes and easy coverage of large areas. Packages contain two sticks each in four traditional color combinations.
Lyra Graphite Crayons
Lyra Graphite Crayons are excellent for sketching, layout, and design. These crayons glide over most papers. The paper covering keeps hands clean in the process. Approximately ½" (13 mm) in diameter and 4½" (114 mm) long. Available in three degrees.
Caran d'Ache Grafcube Graphite Sticks
Caran d'Ache has drawn on its expertise and explored the deepest graphite mines to search out the infinite color nuances of carbon. The result is the Graphite Line, an original concept dedicated to graphite that gives artists the opportunity to compose their own graphite range and explore all the shades of black. An integral part of this line are the Grafcube graphite sticks. Grafcube graphite sticks have a high concentration of graphite and a unique shape that allows lines that are rough and thick, fine, or extra-fine . They come in 2 sizes and 3 degrees of hardness. Grafcubes can be used flat or across their entire length.
Prismacolor Woodless Graphite Pencils
This versatile drawing medium can be used on its side for broad strokes or with a sharpened point for detail. These pencils are capable of a broad range of marks and are pre-sharpened .
Prismacolor Water Soluble Graphite Pencils
Prismacolor's professional grade, water-soluble graphite pencils have expressive qualities that no ordinary pencil can match. In one pencil, they combine the precision of line drawing with the tonal qualities of a wash. Water-soluble graphite goes beautifully with conventional graphite, charcoal, or watercolors. Try these pencils on hot press watercolor paper or bristol plate surfaces. Pencils are pre-sharpened .
Powdered Graphite
Extra-fine powdered graphite can be used as a drawing medium by itself or in conjunction with other media. Squeeze a small amount from the bottle and move it around with a dry brush or with your fingertip. Use it for shading, or for creating your own unusual effects. It also has many other practical uses around the home or shop. The plastic squeeze bottle holds 50 gr (1.765 oz).
